But thanks to the inherent design efficiencies of an EV, the ID.4 actually has a similarly spacious interior as the Tiguan and other small SUVs. It also boasts many of the same attributes, such as a roomy cargo area, available all-wheel drive and a raised seating position. The ID.4 is also capable of slightly higher DC fast-charging speeds than before, which means you should be able to spend less time at one of these rapid chargers, assuming you're connected to one of the appropriate power output. Finally, VW says it has simplified the charging procedure at Electrify America stations. For a bit more fun, get the all-wheel-drive ID.4. Its dual-motor setup generates a lot more power than the standard model. Going for the more powerful all-wheel-drive model sharpens the ID.4's accelerative performance, as evidenced by its 5.4-second jump to 60 mph at our test track. We appreciate its smooth and refined ride quality and quiet cabin. How comfortable is the ID.4? This is a comfortable EV. Most notably, the climate control system does a great job of keeping the cabin at a consistent temperature even in the Eco setting. There are even some fun temperature presets to choose from based on how you're feeling. How's the interior? The ID.4 has a spacious cabin that's easy to get in and out of. It's also easy to see out of. The ID.4 allows you to just get in and drive. There's no ignition or power button to start the car with. You'll also appreciate the driver cluster that moves with the steering wheel, so it's always in your line of sight. How's the tech? There is a lot of great technology packed into the ID.4. Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration is standard (you can still plug in if you prefer), and there are plenty of USB-C ports to go around. There's also a spot reserved for wireless phone charging. If you're not into using smartphone integration for navigating, the onboard navigation system is quite good and easy to use. The ID.4 has a lot of high points. Its spaciousness, practicality and a healthy driving range make it very appealing to the masses. The ID.4's cargo area is quite spacious. We managed to fit eight carry-on suitcases behind the ID.4's rear seat and 26 total with the rear seats folded.
